AN ACT CONCERNING WORKERS' COMPENSATION FOR FIRE POLICE AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE PERSONNEL.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to allow fire police and emergency medical service personnel diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder due to witnessing the death of another first responder to receive workers' compensation benefits.
Statement of Purpose:
To expand the scope of workers' compensation so that all first responders suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of their witnessing the death of another first responder shall be eligible for workers' compensation benefits.
