AN ACT CONCERNING LEGAL REPRESENTATION FOR MILITARY FAMILIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2018) The Military Department shall establish, within its family program, a legal representation program through which the department identifies and coordinates with qualified attorneys-at-law to provide legal services, including representation at judicial or administrative appearances, at no cost to members of the armed forces, as defined in section 27-103 of the general statutes, and members' families.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:

To establish a program through which qualified attorneys-at-law can provide certain legal services at no cost to military service members and their families.
