Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2014) (a) The Commissioner on Aging, in consultation with the Commissioner of Social Services and the Commission on Aging, shall conduct a study of state services to the aging population.
(b) The study shall include, but not be limited to: (1) Demographic projections of the percentage of the state's population that will be sixty-five years of age or older for each year on and after January 1, 2014, and ending December 31, 2034; (2) an inventory of state and federally funded programs for persons sixty-five years of age or older; (3) an assessment of the need for programs to serve persons sixty-five years of age or older; and (4) an analysis of any gaps in services.
(c) Not later than January 1, 2015, the Commissioner on Aging, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, shall submit a report with the results of the study to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to aging, human services, housing and public health.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||
