AN ACT CONCERNING THE ENHANCED USE OF ELECTRONIC NOTICE BY THE JUDICIAL BRANCH.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 870 of the general statutes be amended to allow the Judicial Branch to exempt from delivery via United States mail all judicial notices to attorneys who have agreed to receive such notices via electronic mail.
Statement of Purpose:
To produce savings in the operational budget of the Judicial Branch by reducing postage costs and by reducing the occurrence of multiple, untimely notices sent by said branch.
