AN ACT ESTABLISHING A SOLAR RENEWABLE ENERGY CERTIFICATE PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to establish a solar renewable energy certificate program, in which solar facilities could earn certificates after generating one thousand kilowatt hours of electricity.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide a tradable certificate that represents all the clean energy benefits of electricity generated from a solar electric system and helps electric suppliers meet statutorily required renewable portfolio standards.
