AN ACT REQUIRING DNA TESTING UPON A THIRD ARREST FOR AN OFFENSE PUNISHABLE BY IMPRISONMENT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 54-102g of the general statutes be amended to require a person to submit to the taking of a blood or other biological sample for DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) analysis upon such person's third arrest for an offense punishable by a term of imprisonment.
Statement of Purpose:
To facilitate the accurate identification of persons who commit crimes by requiring a DNA sample be taken from persons upon a third arrest for an offense punishable by a term of imprisonment.
