AN ACT CONCERNING THE HIRING OF ADDITIONAL MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS BY BOARDS OF EDUCATION.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to require that, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2017, the state provide matching funds to local and regional boards of education that hire new mental health professionals, as defined in section 10-76t of the general statutes.

Statement of Purpose:

To require the state to provide matching funds to school districts for the purpose of hiring additional mental health professionals.
