AN ACT CONCERNING THE PURCHASE OF CREDIT IN THE TEACHERS' RETIREMENT SYSTEM FOR TEACHING SERVICE IN SUMMER SCHOOL AND ALTERNATIVE AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10-183e of the general statutes be amended to permit a member of the teachers' retirement system to purchase credited service in said system for service as a teacher in a summer school program or an alternative after-school program at the full actuarial value of the time.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow public school teachers to purchase credit in the teachers' retirement system for service in a summer school or alternative after-school program so as to provide an incentive for such teachers to work in these programs.
