BILL NUMBER: SB 219 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Senator Vargas FEBRUARY 9, 2011 An act to amend and renumber Section 210 of the Financial Code, relating to financial institutions. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 219, as introduced, Vargas. Commissioner of Financial Institutions. Existing law provides that the chief officer of the Department of Financial Institutions is the Commissioner of Financial Institutions. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change by amending and renumbering this section of law. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 210 of the Financial Code is amended and renumbered to read:210.320. The chief officer of the Department of Financial Institutions is the Commissioner of Financial Institutions. The Commissioner of Financial Institutions is the head of the department and, except as otherwise provided in this code, is subject to the provisions of the Government Code relating to department heads, but need not reside in Sacramento.
