LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
Existing law expresses the intent of the Legislature to accomplish various objectives relating to the attainment of the state housing goal and regional housing needs.
This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to this provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 34179.7 of the Health and Safety Code is amended to read:34179.7.
Upon full payment of the amounts determined in subdivision (d) or (e) of Section 34179.6 as reported by the county auditor-controller pursuant to subdivision (g) of Section 34179.6 and of any amounts due as determined by Section 34183.5, or upon a final judicial determination of the amounts due and confirmation that those amounts have been paid by the county auditor-controller, or upon entering into a written installment payment plan with the department for payment of the amounts due, the department shall issue, within five business days, a finding of completion of the requirements of Section 34179.6 to the successor agency.It is the intent of the Legislature in enacting this article:
(a)To assure that counties and cities recognize their responsibilities in contributing to the attainment of the state housing goal.
(b)To assure that counties and cities shall prepare and implement housing elements which, along with federal and state programs, will move toward attainment of the state housing goal.
(c)To recognize that each locality is best
capable of determining what efforts are required by it to contribute to the attainment of the state housing goal, provided such a determination is compatible with the state housing goal and regional housing needs.
(d)To ensure that each local government cooperates with other local governments in order to address regional housing needs.
