CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE—
2017–2018 REGULAR SESSION
Assembly Bill | No. 675 |
Introduced by Assembly Member Ridley-Thomas |
February 15, 2017 |
An act relating to Medi-Cal, and making an appropriation therefor.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 675, as introduced, Ridley-Thomas.
Medi-Cal: in-home supportive services: funding.
Existing law provides for the Medi-Cal program, which is administered by the State Department of Health Care Services, under which qualified low-income individuals receive health care services. The Medi-Cal program is, in part, governed by, and funded pursuant to, federal Medicaid Program provisions. Existing law, the Coordinated Care Initiative, provides, among other things, that long-term services and supports, including in-home supportive services (IHSS), are a Medi-Cal benefit available through managed care health plans in specified counties.
This bill would appropriate $650,000,000 from the General Fund to the department for the purpose of continuing to make IHSS available to Medi-Cal beneficiaries through Medi-Cal managed care health plans under the Coordinated Care Initiative.
