Introduced by Assembly Member Patterson

February 16, 2018

An act to amend Section 19626 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, relating to blind persons.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 2987, as introduced, Patterson. Business Enterprises Program for the Blind.
Existing law requires the Director of Rehabilitation to establish and promote the Business Enterprises Program for the Blind, for the purpose of providing blind persons with remunerative employment, enlarging their economic opportunities, and stimulating them to greater efforts in striving to make themselves self-supporting. A blind person licensed under the program is authorized to operate vending facilities on any property within the state, as specified. Existing law defines a “vending facility” for the purposes of the program.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to the definition of a vending facility.
