An act to amend Section 21376 of the Vehicle Code, relating to traffic signs.


LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


AB 2918, as introduced, Holden. Traffic signs: abandonment or dumping of an animal.
Existing law requires the Department of Transportation to place and maintain a sign stating that the abandonment or dumping of an animal is a crime punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 or by confinement in a county jail for up to 6 months, or both, on every major state highway entering the state, as specified.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 21376 of the Vehicle Code is amended to read:

21376.
 The Department of Transportation shall place and maintain on each major state highway entering the state within 500 feet after of the state line, a sign that states that the abandonment or dumping of any an animal is a crime punishable by a fine of up to one thousand dollars ($1,000) or confinement in a county jail offor up to six months, or both.
