An act to amend Section 8280 of the Government Code, relating to state government.

AB 1988, as introduced, Bauer-Kahan.
California Law Revision Commission: Committee on Revision of the Penal Code.
Existing law establishes the California Law Revision Commission to, among other things, examine the law for defects or anachronisms in the law and recommend changes in the law to modify or eliminate antiquated or inequitable rules of law. Existing law establishes within the commission the Committee on Revision of the Penal Code to achieve prescribed objectives.
This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to those provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 8280 of the Government Code is amended to read:8280.
(a) There is created in the State Government the California Law Revision Commission.(b) Commencing January 1, 2020, there There exists within the California Law Revision Commission the Committee on Revision of the Penal Code.
(c) For purposes of this article, the following terms have the following meanings:
(1) “Commission” means the California Law Revision Commission.
(2) “Committee”
means the Committee on Revision of the Penal Code, unless otherwise specified.
