A Concurrent Resolution

 

proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Arizona; amending article IX, Constitution of Arizona, by adding section 26; relating to taxation.

Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Arizona, the House of Representatives concurring:

1. Article IX, Constitution of Arizona, is proposed to be amended by adding section 26 as follows if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor:

26. Vehicle miles traveled; taxing and monitoring prohibited

Section 26. This state or any county, city, town, municipal corporation or other political subdivision of this state shall not impose a tax or fee on any person based on vehicle miles traveled or impose any rule or law to monitor or limit the vehicle miles traveled of a person in a motor vehicle.

2. The Secretary of State shall submit this proposition to the voters at the next general election as provided by article XXI, Constitution of Arizona.
