AN ACT

establishing The joint study committee on dual enrollment for tribal colleges.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Joint study committee on dual enrollment for tribal colleges; membership; duties; report; delayed repeal

A. The joint study committee on dual enrollment for tribal colleges is established consisting of the following members:

1. Three members of the senate who are appointed by the president of the senate, not more than two of whom are members of the same political party and one of whom is designated by the president of the senate to serve as cochairperson of the committee.

2. Three members of the house of representatives who are appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives, not more than two of whom are members of the same political party and one of whom is designated by the speaker of the house of representatives to serve as cochairperson of the committee.

3. Two school district governing board members, one of whom is appointed by the president of the senate and one of whom is appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives.

4. Two representatives of tribal colleges, one of whom is appointed by the president of the senate and one of whom is appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives.

5. One member of the public who is appointed by the governor.

B. The committee shall study and develop policies to expand funding options for dual enrollment programs offered by tribal colleges.

C. On or before December 1, 2018, the committee shall submit a report regarding its findings and recommendations to the governor, the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives and shall provide a copy of this report to the secretary of state.

D. This section is repealed from and after December 31, 2018.
