SENATE BILL 1340

 

 

 

AN ACT

 

directing the ARIZONA board of regents to submit a report on regents scholarships.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  University scholarships; report; presentation; delayed repeal

A.  On or before December 15, 2019, the Arizona board of regents shall submit a report to the governor, the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives on the history of student scholarships awarded at each university under the jurisdiction of the Arizona Board of Regents from calendar year 1980 through the effective date of this act, excluding private scholarships and grants.  The report shall include:

1.  A summary of the number and the dollar amount of scholarships that have been awarded in this state pursuant to subsection A of this section.

2.  A summary of the past and current eligibility requirements for scholarships pursuant to subsection A of this section.

3.  Data on the number of past and current students that have qualified for and received scholarships pursuant to subsection A of this section.

B.  The Arizona board of regents shall make a presentation during the fifty‑fourth legislature, second regular session, to the senate higher education and workforce development committee, or its successor committee, on the information contained in the report prescribed in subsection A of this section.

C.  This section is repealed from and after June 30, 2020.
