AN ACT

 

amending section 26-305.03, Arizona Revised Statutes; relating to emergency management.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Section 26-305.03, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended to read:

START_STATUTE26-305.03. Electromagnetic pulse preparedness recommendations; posting; definition

A. The division shall develop preparedness recommendations for the public regarding the type and quantity of supplies, including food, water and medical supplies, that each person in this state should possess in preparation for an electromagnetic pulse that might occur over the United States. The division shall post the preparedness recommendations on its website and shall update the preparedness recommendations at least every five years.

B. For the purposes of this section, "electromagnetic pulse" means a burst of electromagnetic energy occurring in the form of a radiated electric magnetic field or conducted electrical current caused by a coronal mass ejection from the sun, detonation of a nuclear bomb high in the earth's upper atmosphere or a man-made electromechanical device.
