AN ACT

 

requiring the department of environmental quality to complete rulemaking regarding direct potable use of treated recycled wastewater; appropriating monies.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Direct potable use of treated recycled wastewater; rules

Notwithstanding any other law, on or before June 30, 2024, the department of environmental quality shall adopt all necessary rules, including permitting standards and the application process, for the direct potable use of treated recycled wastewater.

Sec. 2. Appropriations; water quality assurance revolving fund; use; fiscal years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024

The sum of $250,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in each of fiscal years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 to the water quality assurance revolving fund established by section 49-282, Arizona Revised Statutes, for the purposes provided in this act.
