AN ACT
making an appropriation to the department of education for mental health training programs.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Appropriation; mental health training; exemption from lapsing
A. The sum of $250,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2014-2015 to the department of education's office of school safety for program expenses and reimbursements to school districts and charter schools for programs that promote safe and supportive school environments and mental health, including programs for youth mental health first aid. The office of school safety shall adopt minimum standards for the use and distribution of the monies appropriated by this section, with the goal of maximizing the number of school employees able to receive training.
B. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
