AN ACT
amending Title 15, chapter 7, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-708; relating to school curricula.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 15, chapter 7, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-708, to read:
15-708. Common school pupils; high school mathematics proficiency; parental notification
If the statewide assessment results are available before the start of each school year, each school district and charter school shall provide notification in the first quarter of the school year to parents of pupils in grades six through eight who have not demonstrated proficiency in grade-level mathematics based on available local or statewide assessments. The notification shall include the following information:
1. A description of the pupil's mathematics defiencies as demonstrated by the statewide assessment.
2. A description of the current mathematics services provided to the pupil.
3. A description of the available supplemental instructional services and supporting programs that are designed to remediate mathematics deficiencies.
