AN ACT

 

Appropriating monies to the department of education.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Appropriation; department of education; dual enrollment courses

The sum of $5,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2020-2021 to the department of education to pay the tuition costs for up to twelve credit hours in a calendar year of dual enrollment courses for high school juniors and seniors who are both:

1.  Academically eligible to enroll in dual enrollment courses as prescribed by title 15, chapter 14, articles 1 and 2, Arizona Revised Statutes.

2.  Eligible for free or reduced-price lunches under the national school lunch and child nutrition acts (42 United States Code sections 1751 through 1793).
