AN ACT
amending Title 15, chapter 2, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-231.01; relating to the department of education.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 15, chapter 2, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-231.01, to read:
15-231.01. Biannual letter to school districts; obligation to enroll resident pupils
A. The department of education shall distribute a letter twice a year to each school district in this state to remind the school district of the obligation to enroll resident pupils regardless of immigration status and in accordance with rules adopted by the state board of education.
B. The letter prescribed in this section shall be distributed twice a year between August 1 and December 30 and shall include information on the documentation that may be requested pursuant to rules adopted by the state board of education to demonstrate a pupil's eligibility for enrollment in the school district.
