A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §30-29-15, relating to prohibiting law-enforcement officers with less than academy training from writing citations for traffic offenses on the interstate.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

ARTICLE 29. Law-Enforcement Training and Education.

§30-29-15. Officers with less than academy training are prohibited from writing citations for traffic offenses on the interstate.

Any law enforcement officer whose training does not include successful completion and graduation from the academy shall be prohibited from writing citations for traffic offenses on the interstates of West Virginia.

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit law enforcement officers with less than academy training from writing citations for traffic offenses on the interstate.
