Summary

The purpose of this bill is to permit a person to possess firearms, other than shotguns and rifles, in a vehicle or conveyance without a concealed deadly weapons permit. The bill changes certain provisions covering all firearms to be limited to shotguns and rifles. The bill removes the provision that a firearm located in a storage area in or on a motor vehicle is deemed to be carried on or about a person who has a concealed handgun license. The bill permits a person to transport concealed firearms in a private motor vehicle or a private water-borne conveyance without the necessity of having a concealed deadly weapons permit.
