Summary
This bill repeals the Uniform Management of Institutional Funds Act (UMIFA) and replaces it with the Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (UPMIFA). UPMIFA is an update of the UMIFA which dates back to 1972. UPMIFA applies to funds held for charitable purposes by nonprofit, charitable institutions. The three principal issues addressed are scope of coverage, investment obligations and expenditure of funds.
