Summary

The purpose of this bill is to provide for a death penalty for murder in the first degree with aggravating circumstances, which include that the victim was a fireman, peace officer, correctional officer, parole officer, judicial officer, or any first responder or individual who was killed in the performance of his or her duty and provides procedures and standards applicable thereto, and automatic review of the penalty, for the commission of murder in the first degree. Procedures for carrying out the death sentence are established.
