Summary

The purpose of this bill is to restart expired provisions that allow retired teachers to be employed as substitutes in areas of critical need and shortage for substitutes beyond the 140 day post-retirement employment limit. The bill adds additional features to improve monitoring of compliance with the provisions and encourage the long-term posting of critical shortage positions.
