SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 34
Celebrating the life of Geraldine Boyd Cole.

 

Agreed to by the Senate, February 8, 2024

WHEREAS, Geraldine Boyd Cole, a vital member of the communities at Richlands Christian Academy and Richlands Tabernacle and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on July 31, 2023; and

WHEREAS, after graduating from Richlands High School in 1959, Geraldine Cole dedicated more than 50 years to Richlands Christian Academy as its secretary and bookkeeper, working tirelessly to support the school's students, faculty, and staff; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Cole devoted herself over the years to raising her children and grandchildren, contributing immeasurably to their spiritual journeys and future success; and

WHEREAS, guided throughout her life by her deep and abiding faith, Geraldine Cole enjoyed worship and fellowship with her community at Richlands Tabernacle Church for many years; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Cole gave abundantly to her community and, through her calm and gentle demeanor and fierce love for her family and church, made a positive and lasting impression on everyone she met; and

WHEREAS, preceded in death by her loving husband, Stuart, and her daughter Sandra, Geraldine Cole will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her children, Darrell, Karen, Kimberly, and Rebecca, and their families; and by numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of Virginia hereby note with great sadness the loss of Geraldine Boyd Cole, a cherished member of the Richlands community, whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Geraldine Boyd Cole as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's respect for her memory.
