SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 356
Commending the Brookville High School football team.
 
Agreed to by the Senate, January 24, 2013
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 1, 2013
 

WHEREAS, the Brookville High School football team won the Virginia High School League Group AA, Division III state football championship in December 2012; and

WHEREAS, the Brookville Bees completed the 2012 regular season at first place in the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Seminole District and defeated Rockbridge County High School to secure the VHSL Region III title in November 2012; and

WHEREAS, in the VHSL Group AA, Division III state final, the Brookville Bees won by a score of 24–14 against James Monroe High School; and

WHEREAS, the Brookville Bees finished the season with a perfect record, achieving their second consecutive undefeated season along with their second state title; and

WHEREAS, every player on the Brookville High School football team represented Brookville High School and Campbell County in an outstanding manner, displaying hard work and dedication throughout the season; and

WHEREAS, the leadership of the coaching staff and the support shown by the administration and students of Brookville High School contributed greatly to the Brookville Bees' success; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Brookville High School football team on winning the Virginia High School League Group AA, Division III state football championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jeff Woody, the head coach of the Brookville High School football team, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's continued success.
