WHEREAS, Peggy Ann Tyree-Wells, a beloved member of the Manassas community who diligently served the Commonwealth as a legislative assistant to a Virginia senator for 19 years, died on January 15, 2016; and WHEREAS, a native of Warrenton, Peggy Tyree-Wells was reared in Washington, D.C., and graduated from the Washington School for Secretaries; and WHEREAS, Peggy Tyree-Wells began her professional career as a secretary in Washington, D.C., and held numerous jobs before joining the office of the Honorable Charles Colgan as a legislative assistant; and WHEREAS, respected for her incredible work ethic and dedication, Peggy Tyree-Wells ably served the Commonwealth as a legislative assistant for nearly two decades, retiring on December 31, 2015; and WHEREAS, Peggy Tyree-Wells lived her faith through her actions and found humor in everything; she brought joy to others through her infectious laugh and upbeat personality; and WHEREAS, Peggy Tyree-Wells will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children, LaVeeda and Vernon III, and their families; her mother, Marion; and numerous other family members, friends, and colleagues; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Peggy Ann Tyree-Wells; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Peggy Ann Tyree-Wells as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for her memory. |
