WHEREAS, Ravi Chaudhary, a former United States Air Force pilot and Federal Aviation Administration executive, was sworn in as the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Energy, Installations, and Environment on April 7, 2023; and
WHEREAS, a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, St. Mary's University, and Georgetown University, Ravi Chaudhary has served the nation as a member of the United States Air Force and conducted global flight operations as a C-17 pilot, including combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan; and
WHEREAS, over the course of his distinguished career, Ravi Chaudhary worked as a flight test engineer and supported space launch operations, including work as a systems engineer in support of the International Space Station; and
WHEREAS, Ravi Chaudhary subsequently served as a senior executive at the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), including as director of advanced programs and innovation in the Office of Commercial Space Transportation at the Federal Aviation Administration; and
WHEREAS, Ravi Chaudhary served as the executive director of DOT Regions and Center Operations, in which capacity he was responsible for the integration and support of aviation operations in nine regions nationwide; and
WHEREAS, Ravi Chaudhary had most recently served as a senior advisor and acting deputy assistant secretary of the Navy for energy; and
WHEREAS, in addition, Ravi Chaudhary previously advocated for the Asian American community as a member of the President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders under President Barack H. Obama II; and
WHEREAS, Ravi Chaudhary was nominated by President Joseph R. Biden to serve as Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Energy, Installations, and Environment in October 2021 and was confirmed to the position by the United States Senate on March 15, 2023; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Ravi Chaudhary hereby be commended on his selection as Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Energy, Installations, and Environment; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Ravi Chaudhary as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his contributions to national security and the advancement of aeronautics.
