Celebrating the life of Roger Parker, Jr.

WHEREAS, Roger Parker, Jr., an admired entrepreneur in Hampton, died on April 23, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Roger Parker, affectionately known as Plucker, graduated from Huntington High School and attended Virginia Union University and what was then Hampton Institute; and

WHEREAS, after completing his education, Roger Parker pursued a career with Amoco Oil Refinery, then fulfilled his dreams of entrepreneurship; and

WHEREAS, Roger Parker served community members as the owner of a transportation business and was happy to provide his fellow residents with convenient, delicious meals as a hot dog vendor; and

WHEREAS, Roger Parker enjoyed fellowship and worship with the community as a member of World Victory Church and Life Center; and

WHEREAS, Roger Parker will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife, Penny; children, Lori and Roger, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Roger Parker, Jr., an entrepreneur and active member of the Hampton community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Roger Parker, Jr., as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
