Commending Dylan Olinger.

WHEREAS, Dylan Olinger, a senior at Bruton High School in Williamsburg, won the Virginia High School League Class 2 state championship on October 10, 2023, making Virginia High School League history as the first golfer to win three consecutive state championships; and

WHEREAS, Dylan Olinger shot a one-under-par 71 at Great Oaks Country Club in Floyd, standing atop a field of 60 golfers and besting the runner-up by two strokes to secure the title; and

WHEREAS, after shooting a 38 on the front nine, including three bogeys, Dylan Olinger rallied to birdie three times on the back nine and topped his previous scores of 72 that he shot in the 2021 and 2022 championship matches at Olde Mill Golf Resort in Laurel Park; and

WHEREAS, coming off a fourth place finish at the Virginia High School League Region 2A tournament, Dylan Olinger's victory at Great Oaks was a triumphant conclusion to his final year of high school play; and

WHEREAS, Dylan Olinger's accomplishments on the links are the result of his hard work and dedication, the leadership and guidance of his coaches and teachers, and the unwavering support of his family and the entire Bruton High School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Dylan Olinger hereby be commended for making history in 2023 with his third consecutive Virginia High School League state championship win; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Dylan Olinger as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his achievements and best wishes for his continued success.
