HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 446
Commending Dennis D. Husch.

WHEREAS, Dennis D. Husch of Herndon, an admired and respected public servant, will retire from the Town Council of Herndon in 2010; and

WHEREAS, a 25-year resident of Herndon, Dennis Husch desired to serve his community and fellow citizens and began his service on the Herndon Town Council in 1994; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Husch has chaired the Downtown Trolley Study Committee and the Level of Service Ad Hoc Committee as well as served on the Council's Finance Ad Hoc Committee and as the Town's representative to the Transportation Coordinating Council, World Congress for Information Technology, and Fairfax County Regulatory Process and Legislative Committee; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Husch has also served the Commonwealth as a member of the Virginia State Corporation Commission Division of Utility and Railroad Safety Damage Prevention Advisory Committee and the Joint Commission on Technology and Science; and

WHEREAS, recognized for his exemplary service and contributions, Dennis Husch was selected by the University of Virginia Sorensen Institute as a member of the 2010 Political Leadership Program class; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Husch has given generously of his time and talents in the community to local youth athletics programs, as past president and life member of the Optimist Club of Herndon, and as former member of the board of directors for Herndon Community Television HCTV; and

WHEREAS, a graduate of Strayer University, Dennis Husch works for System Planning Corporation and is certified in cryptology by the National Security Agency and trained by the United States Army in Traffic Analysis/Cryptanalysis; and

WHEREAS, a tireless supporter of the Herndon community, Dennis Husch has worked to ensure the efficient operation of local government for the betterment of the residents of Herndon; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Dennis D. Husch for his contributions to the Town of Herndon as a member of the town council; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Dennis D. Husch as an expression of the General Assembly's gratitude for his commitment and service to the residents of Herndon.
