Commending Carolyn Jones.

WHEREAS, Carolyn Jones provided visionary leadership and outstanding service to the residents of Brunswick County as a member of the Brunswick County School Board since 2012 and was a trusted and effective representative for the Powellton District; and

WHEREAS, as a retired educator, Carolyn Jones brought a wealth of knowledge and experience, a commitment to lifelong learning, and an unwavering devotion to the well-being of children to the Brunswick County School Board; and

WHEREAS, throughout her long tenure on the Brunswick County School Board, Carolyn Jones worked diligently to support teachers and students and enhance the quality of education across the school division; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn Jones further promoted academic excellence as a member of the Virginia School Boards Association, where she represented the region and provided her expertise to committees on policy, finance, and instruction; and

WHEREAS, reflecting her commitment to educational excellence, Carolyn Jones received the Virginia School Boards Association's Award of Distinction multiple times; and

WHEREAS, outside of her career, Carolyn Jones is a generous servant-leader who volunteers her time to help others in many ways, and she is an active member of her church community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Carolyn Jones, an esteemed former educator, for her service as a member of the Brunswick County School Board; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Carolyn Jones as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for her personal and professional achievements on behalf of young people in Brunswick County.
