A BILL to direct the Judicial Council of Virginia to convene a work group to study issues relating to conservatorship in the Commonwealth; report.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. §1. That the Judicial Council of Virginia shall convene a work group to study issues relating to conservatorship in the Commonwealth. The work group shall study statutes governing conservatorship in other states and shall develop recommendations to develop a best practices model for conservatorship in the Commonwealth. The work group shall be comprised of commissioners of accounts, conservators, advocates from disability rights organizations, and other relevant stakeholders. The work group shall submit a report with its recommendations to the Chairmen of the House Committee for Courts of Justice and the Senate Committee on the Judiciary by November 1, 2024.
