Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 19.2-360.1 as follows:
§19.2-360.1. Itemized statement of fines, restitution, forfeiture, penalty, and other costs.
The clerk of the court shall provide an itemized statement to any defendant convicted of a traffic infraction or a violation of any criminal law of the Commonwealth or of any political subdivision thereof, or found not innocent in the case of a juvenile, who is sentenced to pay a fine, restitution, forfeiture, or penalty or assessed any other costs in the circuit court or appropriate district court of his county or city at the time such fine, restitution, forfeiture, penalty, or other costs are assessed. The clerk shall also provide an updated itemized statement of the outstanding balance of any such fines, restitution, forfeiture, penalties, or other costs, including any payment history, after a payment is made and at any time upon request of the defendant. The clerk's office shall make any outstanding balance of such fines, restitution, forfeiture, penalties, or other costs, including any payment history, accessible to the defendant online.
