VIRGINIA ACTS OF ASSEMBLY -- CHAPTER
An Act to evaluate the Department of Transportation's Integrated Directional Sign Program.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  §1. That the Commissioner of Highways shall evaluate (i) whether entities participating in the Supplemental Guide Sign portion of the Integrated Directional Sign Program should continue to be responsible for new construction, maintenance, and replacement of such signs; (ii) potential cost savings to such participants if the Department's private contractor responsible for this program were authorized to receive bids from other private contractors recommended by the participant for the manufacture or installation of such signs; and (iii) the costs to the Commissioner of Highways for the current operation of the Supplemental Guide Sign portion of the Integrated Directional Sign Program and the fiscal impact of potential changes in the current program criteria. The Commissioner of Highways shall report its findings to the Chairmen of the House Committee on Transportation and the Senate Committee on Transportation on or before February 1, 2014.
