Summary

Battery; school employees; penalty (Lindsay's Law). Increases the penalty for battery against a public or private school employee engaged in the performance of his duties from a Class 1 misdemeanor with a 15-day jail sentence, two days of which are a mandatory minimum term of confinement, to a Class 6 felony with a six-month mandatory minimum sentence and adds preschool employees to the employees covered by this provision.
