Summary

Assault and battery; animal control officers; penalty. Adds animal control officers and deputy animal control officers to the list of professions against whom committing an assault or an assault and battery is subject to an enhanced penalty. The bill provides that any person who commits an assault or an assault and battery against such officer is guilty of a Class 6 felony and the sentence of such person includes a mandatory minimum term of confinement of six months.
