Summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health System Authority; chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer. Provides that the President of Virginia Commonwealth University shall serve as the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System Authority. The bill also provides that in the event that a majority of the Board of Directors of the Authority and the Board of Visitors of the University disagree upon the selection, removal, or conditions of appointment, including salary, of the Chief Executive Officer, then each board shall appoint a committee of three members of its board to consider the matters upon which the boards disagree. If the majority of the members of each committee present and voting agree upon the selection, removal, or conditions of appointment of the Chief Executive Officer, the Board of Directors and the Board of Visitors will be bound by that decision. If the majority of the members of each committee present and voting do not agree upon the selection, removal, or conditions of appointment of the Chief Executive Officer within 30 days of the appointment of the joint committee, the President of the University shall decide the matters upon which the committees disagree, and each board will be bound by that decision.
