Summary

Local correctional facilities; electronic visitation and messaging with prisoners. Adds Voice-over-Internet Protocol technology and web-based communication systems used for communication between prisoners and third parties to the types of communication systems for which sheriffs and jail superintendents may charge a fee, except in cases in which the prisoner and the third party are located in the correctional facility or appurtenance thereto operated or controlled by the sheriff or jail superintendent, in which case the sheriff or jail superintendent must provide the service free of charge.
