Summary

Virginia Freedom of Information Act; proprietary records of the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission. Excludes from the mandatory disclosure provisions of FOIA trade secrets and certain proprietary records disclosed to, provided to, or held by the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission in support of or as may be required for an application for or the awarding of a grant. The exclusion provided by this subdivision shall apply to grants that are consistent with the powers of and in furtherance of the performance of the duties of the Commission. The bill requires the grant applicant to specify the records for which protection is sought before submitting them to the Commission. The bill contains a corresponding meeting exemption for the Commission when discussing the excluded records.
