| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Westover Hills Assembly of God on the occasion of its | ||
| 25th anniversary; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Westover Hills Assembly of God was founded in 1986 | ||
| as Ingram Assembly of God and held its first services in a rented | ||
| storefront; today, the church is located on a 40-acre campus and | ||
| attracts 4,300 worshippers to its five weekend services; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through the years, Westover Hills Assembly of God | ||
| has ministered faithfully to the temporal and spiritual needs of | ||
| countless people; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Under the guidance and wise stewardship of | ||
| founder and lead pastor, Jim D. Rion, the church has continued to | ||
| grow and to play a vital role in the life of the community; it has | ||
| been named to Outreach magazine's list of the fastest growing | ||
| churches in America for the last three years; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Westover Hills Assembly of God has become an | ||
| invaluable source of strength for church members during times of | ||
| hardship and bereavement and a place of loving fellowship during | ||
| times of prosperity and celebration; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The commemoration of its 25th anniversary is an | ||
| expression of the church's enduring commitment to its mission of | ||
| providing enlightenment and hope to its members; now, therefore, | ||
| be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to the clergy and | ||
| congregation of Westover Hills Assembly of God on the joyous | ||
| occasion of its 25th anniversary; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| the church in honor of this special occasion. | ||
