| WHEREAS, The Harlingen Police Department is holding its | ||
| sixth annual BBQ cook-off on June 17, 2023; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Champions Barbecue Alliance as | ||
| one of the organization's state championship cook-offs, this | ||
| much-anticipated event attracts talented chefs from across | ||
| Texas; these accomplished pitmasters put their skills to the test | ||
| as they vie to produce the tastiest entries in several different | ||
| categories; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Proceeds from the contest will benefit the | ||
| Children's Advocacy Centers of Cameron and Willacy Counties; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and | ||
| the Harlingen Police Department BBQ Cook-off is sure to offer | ||
| everyone in attendance the chance to enjoy good food and good | ||
| times while supporting a worthy cause; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commemorate the sixth annual Harlingen | ||
| Police Department BBQ Cook-off and extend to the organizers, | ||
| participants, and attendees sincere best wishes for a fun and | ||
| successful event; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be | ||
| prepared for the Harlingen Police Department as an expression of | ||
| high regard from the Texas Senate. | ||
