SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 682
         WHEREAS, The Harlingen Police Department is holding its
  sixth annual BBQ cook-off on June 17, 2023; and
         WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Champions Barbecue Alliance as
  one of the organization's state championship cook-offs, this
  much-anticipated event attracts talented chefs from across
  Texas; these accomplished pitmasters put their skills to the test
  as they vie to produce the tastiest entries in several different
  categories; and
         WHEREAS, Proceeds from the contest will benefit the
  Children's Advocacy Centers of Cameron and Willacy Counties; and
         WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and
  the Harlingen Police Department BBQ Cook-off is sure to offer
  everyone in attendance the chance to enjoy good food and good
  times while supporting a worthy cause; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby commemorate the sixth annual Harlingen
  Police Department BBQ Cook-off and extend to the organizers,
  participants, and attendees sincere best wishes for a fun and
  successful event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for the Harlingen Police Department as an expression of
  high regard from the Texas Senate.
