WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Erby | ||
Glenn Eikner of Tyler, who passed away on October 28, 2022, at the | ||
age of 73; and | ||
WHEREAS, A native of Tyler, Erby Eikner was born on | ||
October 14, 1949, to Erby and Brownie Gertrude Eikner; he graduated | ||
from John Tyler High School and attended Stephen F. Austin State | ||
University, where he received his bachelor of business | ||
administration degree; he went on to enjoy a rewarding career as | ||
business manager of Maddox Air Conditioning and retired after 32 | ||
years of service; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Eikner gave back to his community through his | ||
active involvement in the Tyler-Rose City Kiwanis Club; as a member | ||
of the Kiwanis, he held many roles at the local, division, district, | ||
and international levels of the organization; he also served as | ||
president of the board of directors at Camp Tyler, an outdoor | ||
learning program for youth, and volunteered his time at St. Mary | ||
Magdalene Catholic Church's food pantry; and | ||
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family, Mr. Eikner enjoyed the | ||
love and support of his wife, Francine, their two children, | ||
Stephanie and Matthew, and their grandchildren and | ||
great-grandchildren; and | ||
WHEREAS, Erby Eikner led a rich and purposeful life centered | ||
around his family and his community, and he will forever be | ||
remembered with great admiration and affection by all who were | ||
fortunate enough to know him; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature | ||
hereby pay tribute to the memory of Erby Glenn Eikner and extend | ||
sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Francine | ||
Eikner; to his daughter, Stephanie Lassanske, and her husband, Tom; | ||
to his son, Matthew Eikner, and his wife, Tammy; to his brother, | ||
Conny Eikner, and his wife, Mary; to his grandchildren and | ||
great-grandchildren; and to his many other relatives and friends; | ||
and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this | ||
day, it do so in memory of Erby Eikner. |
