| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Dr. Charlsey Sharon Chumley, who has been selected for | ||
| induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her | ||
| outstanding work in the creative arts; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those | ||
| women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio | ||
| community and the Bexar County region through their | ||
| accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and | ||
| WHEREAS, An artist, educator, and community leader, Dr. | ||
| Chumley has enriched the lives of many; she is the Visual Arts | ||
| Supervisor of the Fine Arts Department at Northside Independent | ||
| School District, where she oversees the district's entire visual | ||
| arts program; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She was honored as the State Outstanding Art | ||
| Supervisor of the Year by the Texas Art Education Association in | ||
| 2005; she is a certified trainer in concept-based curriculum and | ||
| instruction, and her work has been published in many arts and | ||
| education journals; she is noted for having created new methods | ||
| for teaching art, and her work to further the training of arts | ||
| educators has had a positive impact on many teachers and | ||
| students; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dr. Chumley is highly respected for her | ||
| dedication to her work and for her outstanding accomplishments as | ||
| a creative artist and an educator, and she is an inspiration to | ||
| women across our state; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, | ||
| 83rd Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Charlsey Sharon Chumley for | ||
| her exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her | ||
| on her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, | ||
| be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
