Samuel Lee Sherman | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and | ||
commemorates the life of Samuel Lee Sherman, who died January 13, | ||
2019, at the age of 77; and | ||
WHEREAS, Samuel Sherman was born on April 8, 1941, in | ||
McNeil, Arkansas, to John and Fannie Sherman; he graduated from | ||
a school in the McNeil Independent School District, and he | ||
attended a trade school for diesel mechanics in Sand Springs, | ||
Oklahoma; and | ||
WHEREAS, He moved to San Antonio and met and married Hattie | ||
Andrews; the couple was blessed with six children, Lynn | ||
Hutchinson, Samuel Sherman, Diannah Sherman, Carl Sherman, and | ||
the late Earl Hutchinson and Richard Sherman; his many | ||
grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a source of much | ||
pride and joy for him; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Sherman enjoyed a successful career as the | ||
owner and operator of S and L Automotive Shop in San Antonio; a | ||
devout Christian who practiced his faith in his daily life, he | ||
was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church and later, of Mount | ||
View Church of Christ; and | ||
WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and generosity, he | ||
gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued | ||
counsel will not be forgotten; and | ||
WHEREAS, He was devoted to his large and loving extended | ||
family,andheleavesbehindmemoriesthatwillbetreasured | ||
forever by all who were privileged to share in his life; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th | ||
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
family of Samuel Lee Sherman; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
memory of Samuel Lee Sherman. | ||
