SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 444
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Larry Gene Pullin for his many achievements and for his
visionary work on behalf of the veterans of Brown County; and
WHEREAS, Larry Pullin served with distinction in the
United States Army during the Vietnam War; he is a highly
decorated veteran and a two-time Purple Heart recipient; and
WHEREAS, After retiring as a staff sergeant in 1975, Larry
earned a bachelor of science degree from Tarleton State
University; he moved to Brownwood to open his own business, and
he has since remained a resident of Brown County; and
WHEREAS, In the years following his military retirement,
Larry has been active in veterans' affairs, and he continues to
serve as a tireless proponent of veterans' rights; recently, he
has been advocating for the implementation of a Veterans
Treatment Court in Brown County, an endeavor that would expand
specialized services to veterans who often do not seek out the
help they need when they return home from combat service; and
WHEREAS, In response to the dedicated efforts of Larry
Pullin and other community advocates working on behalf of
veterans, the Brown County Commissioners Court is beginning the
process of laying the groundwork for establishing a Veterans
Treatment Court in Brown County; Mr. Pullin played an integral
role in this outstanding development, and he is indeed deserving
of recognition for his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend Larry Gene Pullin for his many
contributions to his community and for his exceptional work on
behalf of his fellow veterans and extend to him best wishes in all
his future endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
