WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
recognize Larry Gene Pullin for his many achievements and for his | ||
visionary work on behalf of the veterans of Brown County; and | ||
WHEREAS, Larry Pullin served with distinction in the | ||
United States Army during the Vietnam War; he is a highly | ||
decorated veteran and a two-time Purple Heart recipient; and | ||
WHEREAS, After retiring as a staff sergeant in 1975, Larry | ||
earned a bachelor of science degree from Tarleton State | ||
University; he moved to Brownwood to open his own business, and | ||
he has since remained a resident of Brown County; and | ||
WHEREAS, In the years following his military retirement, | ||
Larry has been active in veterans' affairs, and he continues to | ||
serve as a tireless proponent of veterans' rights; recently, he | ||
has been advocating for the implementation of a Veterans | ||
Treatment Court in Brown County, an endeavor that would expand | ||
specialized services to veterans who often do not seek out the | ||
help they need when they return home from combat service; and | ||
WHEREAS, In response to the dedicated efforts of Larry | ||
Pullin and other community advocates working on behalf of | ||
veterans, the Brown County Commissioners Court is beginning the | ||
process of laying the groundwork for establishing a Veterans | ||
Treatment Court in Brown County; Mr. Pullin played an integral | ||
role in this outstanding development, and he is indeed deserving | ||
of recognition for his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
Legislature, hereby commend Larry Gene Pullin for his many | ||
contributions to his community and for his exceptional work on | ||
behalf of his fellow veterans and extend to him best wishes in all | ||
his future endeavors; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
